WHO WE ARE

The Interaction Web Database is a cooperative effort of scientists interested in the study of species interactions. The goal of the Interaction Web Database is to help disseminate ecological data on species interactions to be used for scientific purposes. If you have a dataset that you think could be included in the database, please send us an e-mail, and we'll send you the necessary information. In the future we plan to have an online interface for data entry, so members can enter and edit their data directly.
The IWDB was originally created by Diego Vázquez, Jeremy Goldberg and Rupesh Naik in September 2003 at NCEAS, Santa Barbara, CA, USA. Past coordinators include Diego Vázquez (currently at Mendoza, Argentina), Carlos Melián (currently at EAWAG, Switzerland), and Luciano Cagnolo (Cordoba, Argentina).
The database is currently managed by Paulo R. Guimarães (University of São Paulo, Brazil), Rafael L. Galdini Raimundo (Programa de Pós-Graduação em Ecologia e Monitoramento Ambiental (PPGEMA), Universidade Federal da Paraíba, Brazil), Roberta Bonaldo (Natural History Brazil produções), Lucas Camacho (São Paulo, Brazil), and Mathias M. Pires (Universidade de Campinas, Brazil). We thank Diego Vázquez and Carlos Melián to work as our advisory board and we are extremely grateful to the researchers that through intense fieldwork have produced the datasets available at the web site.
